When I first joined Swap-bot a few months ago there seemed to be a good amount of email swaps where you would simply answer the questions and send them to your partners. I really enjoy those kind of swaps since it lets me think about things in my life and they are simple to send. However, I haven't participated in one of those in several weeks and it doesn't seem like there are any right now with strictly questions. All you have to do is answer the questions and send them to your six (6) partners. If possible, please type more than one word answers. No one learns anything about you if your answer is simply "Yes." This will be open to everybody. If you are brand new, go ahead and sign up. If you need some rating repair, then this is a good swap to join. If you do have 3's and 1's please explain them so that I will be convinced that you won't flake on this swap. It shouldn't be difficult to complete an email swap though. If someone is doing a series of swaps like this and wants me to delete this one, then I will. I just wanted to do a swap like this again. The questions are: What state and/or country do you reside in? Do you know your ancestry? What nationalities are you? What would I find in your refrigerator right now? If you could give the world one piece of advice, what would it be? If you could only see black and white except for one color, what color would you choose to see and why? What do you think is your biggest fault? What do you think is the perfect age to be, and why? What is the scariest experience you've ever had? What is the most beautiful image, place, thing you have ever seen? Why? If you could confront anyone from your past, who would it be and why? What is a word or phrase you use frequently and how did you pick it up? Whatâ€™s something you know you do differently than most people? I did not come up with these questions. When partners are assigned your email will be visible to only the members who have you as one of their partners. If you wish you may send your answers through PM. Whichever you prefer. I hope that helped!

Hello kimphilipsvanburen,

I'm trying to think of how to re-word the question. Basically...think of something you do. Do most people do it in the way you do? Or do you do it in a way that isn't considered "normal"?

Here's an example. Most people start reading a book from front to back. However, I will usually read the last word on the last page of the book before starting it. So I read books differently than most people.

I hope I explained that well enough. If you are still having trouble understanding it feel free to skip it.

We take a lot of short-cuts in English based on assumed knowledge, and the structure becomes less and less predictable. That's partly why it's so difficult to learn! @Apollo would you mind if I tried to re-word the last question the way it would be structured in most (well, many) other languages?

Describe one activity that you are aware (that) you perform (or 'do') differently to most other people.

I know that doesn't flow well in English with the 2nd 'that', but it should be understandable even if a non-English speaker translated it word by word with a dictionary.

And for people who are still learning English, you might have seen

Different people and different nationalities of people sometimes say it differently. Differently than/to/from each other, I mean. ;)

To papercaper - That seems good. I didn't think about non-English speakers being unable to understand the questions well.

To karliskielty & megsnapl18 - I'm glad you like the questions. I tried to pick out ones that weren't what you normally see in an email swap. It makes it more involved and personal instead of just "yes" or "no" questions.

@Apollo - Only 10% of us spoke English as a first language at my primary (elementary) school. Communicating effectively across a language barrier is the best way to learn about sentence structure when you're 8!

English is not my first language but I love to see the faces some people do when I'm trying to explain or ask something. Finally I have what I want, they go to where they ask for and everyone is happy!!! LOL
