beavertondeb, banned means you will be removed from the swap if you join and you are not from the US. I've already had to do it once. So no it's not pretty harsh. My swap description clearly says US Only due to time restriction. I shouldn't have to remind anyone as long as they take the time to read the description.

However, I'm in a different USA-only Christmas card swap where the host did not bother to check where folks were from, so I was assigned 4 USA and 1 UK.
