Does a cactus count as a tree? lol

rsj244 02/ 5/2011 #

Unfortunately, a cactus is a plant and not a tree :( I'm sorry.

Gabrielle 02/ 5/2011 #

As an Arizona resident, I feel I must point out that the Park Service has designated a large area outside of Tucson as The Sahuaro National Forest -- entirely because of the huge and numerous sahuaro cacti found there!! But AZ does have trees, so we can also send tree cards! :)

rsj244 02/ 5/2011 #

Hey, I'm just going on what the definition of a cactus is.... and it is a plant. I don't want anyone to get rated down to a "3" because some idiot has a problem with getting a postcard of a cactus. Personally, I want a postcard with a tree and not a cactus. ;-0 Of course, one could always host a "Cactus Postcard Swap" if one so desires.

Momskii 02/ 7/2011 #

this sounds interesting. but I think I'll just watch this time

zanylady 02/ 7/2011 #

Not to get anyone in a snit but a tree is also a plant :>). This is one from where we have the largest (in volume) plant in the world: Sequoia

rsj244 02/ 7/2011 #

No plants, just trees... Like in the picture. If you want to send a postcard with a plant, don't be shocked if you get rated a "3". Good lawrd people. Let's use our brains here. It's not that difficult.

susieq11 02/ 7/2011 #

This is the first really simple swap I have signed up for that has so much discussion! @bratface99 - A TREE, right? Not a house plant, not a bunch of daisies, not a lovely geranium...?!! LOL!

susieq11 02/ 7/2011 #

At least 58 people get it,lol!

rsj244 02/ 7/2011 #

And 38 who are watching who either get it too and will sign up tomorrow or are googling "trees" and "plants". lmfao.............

Winkie 02/ 8/2011 #

Actually I was trying to be funny in my comment above although I do have a PC with an AZ cactus taller than a house. Didn't realize the discussion it would generate. (smirk)

rsj244 02/ 8/2011 #

:D Funny stuff!!!

susieq11 02/ 8/2011 #

@Winkie - I think I can say we were being silly too - and I too have seen the huge cacti - I used to live in AZ too - they are incredible!

Winkie 02/ 8/2011 #

(whew) Susie, I was hoping people were poking fun but then the non-native English speakers might take us seriously. (humming) You say cactus... I say tree... Why can't we all just get along? (giggle)

rubyhousesliprs 02/ 8/2011 #

Aggh.. the only tree postcard I have is an artist sketch of a tree. Will this count?

susieq11 02/ 8/2011 #

I will let @Bratface99 be the judge, but a tree's a tree! (Or is it?! lol!)

rubyhousesliprs 02/ 8/2011 #

LOL If a cat will climb it, it's a tree. :p

susieq11 02/ 8/2011 #

Ha ha - then I guess a cactus is NOT a tree!!

Winkie 02/ 8/2011 #

Um, I got a private message from someone who said her cats climb cacti. Just saying. (stirring the pot) LOL

RetroJane 02/ 8/2011 #

Gah - I can't find a card in my stash of a good ol' tree....nor a cactus! :\ Well I guess this may be a handmade one in that case.

rsj244 02/ 8/2011 #

I'm about to delete this swap. Seriously.

No CACTI. Cats climb freakin' curtains and a damn curtain ain't a freakin' tree. I've seen cats climb telephone polls, so I don't know what the hell you all are talking about.

@shabbypink123 - The tree is to be the main feature of the postcard, so you'll have to judge your postcard and decide whether or not you want to still remain in the swap.

I'm not coming back to read anymore comments. I will only have time to assign partners right after midnight, so good luck.

rubyhousesliprs 02/ 8/2011 #

@bratface99 me so sowwy. :(

Winkie 02/ 8/2011 #

My apologies for my puckish comments, Bratface99. My intent was just to play. Didn't mean to upset you. Really.

MissMillie 02/ 8/2011 #

Daaang......I scared a this swap. Sounds like ya'll need to go hug some trees or something........get back to nature. PEACE! LOL.

Marloes 02/ 9/2011 #

Can you also use postcards which come in an envelope? (sorry, but this is my first swap)

neecie 02/ 9/2011 #

i am glad marloes asked, because i intended to send in an envelope:

would this be Wrong?

rsj244 02/ 9/2011 #

Yes, that would be wrong. Bullet point #4 says:

"The postcard is to be stamped and addressed to your partner. Please do not make any special requests for how it should be mailed."

Nightingale 02/ 9/2011 #

this was the best comments section i have ever read

rsj244 02/11/2011 #

=D

Megbomb 02/12/2011 #

if it can be hugged, it is a tree! LOL, susieq, i think you will want to hug the pc i am sending LOL
