Description:

The rules are simple. Make an ATC without using paper or cardboard. There's no theme you have to follow. It's sender's choice. You can use whatever else you want to use to make the ATC. You just can't use paper or cardboard. AT ALL. Not even as the ATC back. And, yes, stickers count as paper. If you have any suspicion that maybe what you're about to stick onto your ATC may technically qualify as paper, leave it off.

do you have any ideas of how we ought to write our info on the back of the card without at least a sticker to write it on? Just curious. I've done some metal cards and they're fun to do but I usually put a white sticker on the back to write my name and such on it.

I thinking of using a piece of leather , however it isn't stiff enough, any ideas? If I don't use leather I will use decorator fabric samples as my base (I have 8 books of fabric samples....)

If you wet the leather and then let it dry it should get stiffer. Maybe you have to decorate it first if it gets too stiff. I suggest you try it on a smaller piece first!

I've made several leather ATCs they're fun! You can use different weights of leather. The two I've sent out already were fairly lightweight, and not stiff. I didn't have any complaints on them. I think it's okay if they're not stiff because, they aren't like paper in that they won't rip if they aren't stiff.

This looks like fun, but I'm vegan, and thus don't want to get leather. Maybe I'll jump in next time....

White fabric is presumably the easiest solution to the "blank back" problem, no?

Ooh, we have pretty much all of March to brainstorm too...

@hopelessshade - you can use plain muslin for the backs of fabric cards, but usually I use old mens shirts. They're plain enough for a back, but still interesting - I use the ones with simple stripes and light patterns.
