Description:

This is a Newbie Matchbox swap. Please read the JOINING A NEWBIE SWAP info sticky in the Forums BEFORE joining. I encourage other experienced members to join this swap too so our newbies can see examples of our work and start their collections!

Please make a 32 ct matchbox using your favourite colour combination. Use a combination of 3 layers and/or embellishments minimum. Fill the box with items that coordinate with your box in colour or theme. Don’t forget to read all the rest of the guidelines.

For this swap, we will relax the rules below slightly. But they are still recommended guidelines so please strive for excellence. For rating, if the box approaches or comes close to meeting the guidelines, please rate a 5. A 3 would be for a box where it's late, no care was taken, isn’t decorated, is very messy or where specifics have been ignored. Eg: use of kid stickers. Since this is a newbie swap, I would appreciate being PM’d before you rate someone a 3 except for lateness. We want to be fair but encouraging as much as possible.

*Stickers, AS ACCENTS, should be limited to high quality scrapbooking or card making stickers, not the kind meant for kids or teacher’s reward stickers.

*If you use rubber stamping, please stamp cleanly; missed areas or double lines are not acceptable. Please do not use computer generated images or sentiments because I have been very disappointed by images printed in very poor quality lately. (If you print them well using very good quality paper and ink, your partner won’t know and can’t rate you badly for it can they?? Wink wink!)

*Please make a beautiful matchbox you are proud of and would be thrilled to receive. Make sure your work is clean and precise. No glue should show and straight cuts need to be straight.

*Please don't be discouraged by my rules. I am only referring to general tidy practices, not tiny flaws. I've received a card so saturated with glue I could knock on it and get hollow noises! I've received a note book with edges that looked like they had been cut with a saw! I just expect tidy work!

*Please check your partner’s profile for dislikes and avoid those. For instance, do not put bugs on mine because I hate bugs and that is on my profile.

*Please fill the matchbox with things that are colour or theme appropriate. No need to pack it tight but fill nicely.

*Please have a 4.95+ rating to join and no 1's EVER or 3's in the last 6 months. I will accept explanations of course, PM me ahead of the sign up deadline. Newbies are welcome with WELL FILLED out profiles (About Me, Likes, Dislikes at least) and MUST PM me at least 3 days before the end of the swap to show good intentions. A newbie is someone with less than 5 completed and rated type 2 or 3 swaps. If you see a flaker has joined, don't worry, I will weed them out. If you are really worried, give me a heads up! I’ve only been a member since March and been flaked on too many times, I've stopped keeping track, so I get it!

Enjoy, Rebecca

Im not sure if I count as a newbie. I have been on for about two years and have done many match boxes. I just joined your group though, and maybe i am? you can see some on my flickr account.
