Description:

Do you find yourself doodling on paper when you're on the phone, at work, or at school? Do you love to create fun looking doodles to amuse yourself and your friends? Are you creative and love arts and crafts? Then you would love this swap!

This swap has three totally awesome parts to it!

You are sending the following in a secured envelope to your parter:

  • Doodle page drawn by you only. This swap is NOT for children.

  • A note written on the back of the doodle page.

  • A surprise!

SWAP DETAILS:

The doodle page must be done on a plain piece of printer paper, 8x11. The ENTIRE page must be covered in doodles, do not leave any large spaces blank. If you can only draw stick figures and smiley faces then DO NOT JOIN. You don't have to have amazing artistic talent, but you need to know how to draw something better than that. Think cute, cartoony doodles. Search through google images for doodles and you'll see exactly what I am talking about. :) DO NOT send anything that might be offensive to others like nudity and profanity. This is absolutely NOT allowed! EDIT:(You may ask your swap partner if they are okay with nudity and profanity in the doodles. If they are okay with it, it is fine if you work out what would and wouldn't be offensive amongst yourselves. Otherwise, NO nudity or profanity!)

The note should be written on the BACK of your doodle page, make sure you do not use ink that will not bleed! Write your username, the name of the swap, and the date. You will need to provide the answer to the following question- "What inspires you artistically?" You are welcome to write more, but you must answer that question!

The surprise can be almost anything that can be sent in flat mail, like ATCs, inchies, stickers, bookmarks, naked postcards, small notecards, etc. No food or drink.

Please make sure you use pens that do not bleed through the paper. A regular ballpoint pen should work nicely. I know that dark pen + white paper = you can somewhat see the marks when you turn the paper over. That isn't the ink bleeding through. If you see blobs of ink going through to the other side, then your ink is bleeding through. Pretty simple. :)

SWAP REQUIREMENTS:

  • NO swappers with a rating below 4.9.
  • NO swappers with 1s will be allowed, and you cannot have any recent 3s in the last six months.
  • Newbies are welcome with a very well filled out profile. :)

I have the right to ban anyone from this swap if I think they are suspicious, and intend to do so. I will angel for this swap if needed.

EDIT Someone asked me about colored pens and using more than one color. It is okay if you want to use multiple pens that have different colored ink, but make sure they aren't gel pens that could smear or marker pens that will bleed through. Regular ballpoint pens in different colors should work fine. NO colored pencils, markers, or paints- just pens that don't bleed through the paper. So, colored pens still fall under ink doodles. :)

Can we do an exquisite corpse? Divide the paper in 4 sections and then alternate illustrators and at the end is only when we see it. That way its a fun suprise for the maker and the reciever.

I don't really see how that would work for this swap since that involves multiple people. This is a swap for one doodle page done by yourself, not anyone else. That is an interesting idea for another swap though! :D

I figured it would be cool since he doesnt swap but was up for the idea and the letter would have been about us as a couple since we are artists opening our etsy store soon, but I completely understand. Thanks

Too bad no nudity, lol most of my usual doodles are cute naked ladies, but Ill have to focus more on animals for this.

SusanSpooky 04/29/2011 #

@babynavyblue - I may consider starting an exquisite corpse swap sometime when I can come up with a good plan on how to do it. It may be hard though, because if someone flaked it would ruin it all. :/

@Eruanna - I'm sorry, but I don't want to risk anyone getting offended by nudity or profanity. Though, if you want, you can ask your swap partner if they don't mind naked doodles!

Just so everyone knows I will be assigning partners ASAP on Monday the 9th. Sometimes I assign just after midnight, right after I have checked profiles. :)

No major edits, just added some more to make sure everyone understands what is acceptable. :)

Is it ok to fold the sheet to send it?

Eruanna 05/ 5/2011 #

In responce to the edit: Im a bit confused about the "no gel pens or other pens that bleed through the paper".....gel pens dont bleed at all o.o

SusanSpooky 05/ 5/2011 #

@LizzyJo - Yes, you can fold the paper, but I suggest putting it into a business size envelope and folding both ends of the paper to the middle to make it fit. It limits the folds and makes it more neat.

@Eruanna - Gel pens sometimes blot and smear, at least they have with me before. Let me edit that again. :)

I am sorry if this seems too specific, I just want to make sure everyone gets a nice doodle page.
