Dotee Making Kit

This swap is for anyone who likes to make dotee dolls or wants to get started making them. The idea is to send your partner a package that includes everything they need to make a couple of dotee dolls. And maybe, some of us will find a new penpal we can swap dotee dolls with!

You MUST include at least 2 different patterned fabrics. (You don't need a lot of fabric to make a dotee doll, they can be pretty small scraps... but let's say for this swap, include at least 2 pieces of patterned fabric that are at least 6x6 inches. They should be 2 different fabrics.)

You must also include some sort of yarn, OR another material that can be used as hair.

You may also include: beads, buttons, charms, sequins, embellishments, colored threads, needles, stuffing, ribbon, felt, dotee faces you drew or stitched, fabric markers or sharpies for drawing faces on felt/fabric, glitter paints, glue, patterns you drew and cut out of cardstock to make different body shapes, your dotee making tips/instructions, a letter to your partner about the different dotees you have made, photos of cool dotees for inspiration, etc...

Include enough materials to make at least 2 dotee dolls: fabrics for the body, yarn for the hair, and some sort of beads/embellishments. (You aren't required to include the stuffing, needle, and thread, but you can if you have extra stuff you want to share.) Also include a note to your partner. You can write a nice long letter about all the different dotees you have made and collected, but if you just write a short note that's ok too.

Have fun and send something that will inspire your partner to make awesome dotee dolls, whether they have made them before or not! If you're experienced at making them, try to share your wisdom with the new people!

For those not familar with dotee dolls:

A dotee doll is a small, easy to make art doll, which can be 3-7" tall. They have no arms or legs, and have a hanger at the top and a tail at the bottom. Basically it's a little blob of fluff with a face that you are free to decorate however you want. And then you can collect and trade them on swap-bot! Fun!
