Description:

I have wanted one of these since I started swapping a year and a half ago. I do hope we get enough to join to pull it off, if not, we may have to do multiple swaps.

A Repunzel Scarf is a made of multiple strands of different fibers (yarn, ribbon, fabric strips, beads???) braided together to make a scarf. One of the many sites on the web for these scarves is:

Rapunzel Scarf

We need to get at least 10 swappers. Each person will send 5 each, 10 foot lengths of fiber (as described above) to 10 different swappers. These material sent must be in fall colors with no more than 2 of the lengths being the same material.

This is a Queen Swap so I will expect nothing but Queen Quality from all. Please leave a message below with any questions.

I ran out of time and will be editing the clicky and uploading a photo!

Your "number of swap partners" says "1" instead of "10". I'm in!

dkay 07/21/2011 #

Thanks @queenmlv ... I had to leave before I could finish setting this up..... Working on fixing it now!

I'm gonna join as soon as I am finished with a few other swaps. This is such a cool idea, Donner Marie! =D

I just used a coupon for Joanns.... 40 percent off... will take care of 20 of the strands. Sooooo soft. I bought another skein on sale that will take care of the same amount. If you use what you have plus purchase on sale....spend maybe 6 or 7 bux max for a really cool scarf! Just think of wearing something that came from ten of your favorite queens!

MzPatti 07/28/2011 #

I'm IN baby!!!

I've also got a great stash going for this swap...and just in case not enough people don't sign up (even though this is a very cool swap), I'd be willing to send out more...just let me know. :)

We got 6 in now! A few looky lou's still. We will make it!

mydnite 08/ 4/2011 #

If you need me to send to 2 people instead of just 1 so that we get the 10 "people" it is no problem! This sounds so amazing and I cannot wait to get started.

belovedgypsygirl 08/ 5/2011 #

wait i dont know if its just that time of night or if im haveing a goldfish brain moment but.....we are just sending the loose strands or are we braiding it our self? i dont get it, but i love the picture so i wanna be in i just need to know what im sending.....SRY im totally banking on im having goldfish brain...

dkay 08/ 8/2011 #

@mydnite - we are sending 5 10 ft lengths to 10 different partners

@belovedgypsygirl - We are sending lengths only. When the swapping is done you should have 50 strands which you will braid into the scarf.

This swap is materials only. This way we get a big variation of color without having to go by 25 to 30 different yarn colors.

Let me know if I haven't made it clear enough...

belovedgypsygirl 08/ 8/2011 #

MY next question is what exactly would u say fall colors are? I personally think they are more muted colors, but then i would think to through in a popping color as well to off set it?!?! HELP?!?!

belovedgypsygirl 08/ 8/2011 #

@dkay SRY for all the questions

Paige1900 08/ 9/2011 #

Since I have already begun stocking up for this swap I sincerely hope that "fall colors" translate into any colors that are "Thanksgivingish" .... uhmmm if that is a word.

belovedgypsygirl 08/ 9/2011 #

Colors of fall can mean many things esp. since its an accessory and then fall fashion colors come to mind. Thats why I want clarification

Paige1900 08/ 9/2011 #

hmmm....so are you giving me the okay to "coin" the term Thanksgivingish....LOL.

belovedgypsygirl 08/ 9/2011 #

hey im all for fun words!

Paige1900 08/10/2011 #

YAY!!!

belovedgypsygirl 08/10/2011 #

lol

dkay 08/16/2011 #

Crud...Sorry I missed your question @belovedgypsygirl !!! Fall colors orange, rust, brown, red, grey, black, dark purples, tan... I would say muted colors, dark, murky, nothing bright.

Colors that are out are like Pinks, Brink Blues, Bright Yellows, Spring Green (actually anything green) - anything bright and summery.

Paige1900 08/16/2011 #

So my neon orange is out huh? LOL...just kidding.

dkay 08/18/2011 #

LOL.... You funny girl Taco!

scarlett1110 08/26/2011 #

YEA! I have all my yarns cut and packaged so I'm going to the store today to get envelopes & will (hopefully) have them in the mail tomorrow morning. Saying a prayer that everyone that is in the path of Hurricane Irene stays safe.

pippelotje 08/27/2011 #

so much fun receiving all those different yarns! the scarf will look absolutely AMAZABELLS when I've got them all!
