Etsy- to shop and be shopped DATES Updated

I don't think more than one partner would be a good idea, because of the cost. But maybe do this regularly, like once a month? I'm suggesting that because I really want to start an Etsy shop but I haven't yet! And personally I'd prefer a bit longer between allocating partners (which might not happen for a day or two after the closing date) and the send by deadline - e.g. a week?

Nice idea! If you do this again, I'll try to think of something under $5 to add to my shop and join you all. Also b/c of the shipping stipulations it seems like you might want to make this regional? I don't know how many people have free or $1 shipping to everywhere.

I am so confused cause what IF a person does not like what is in your shop? ONE partner must buy one thing from their assigned partner? I am sorry I do not understand... thanks

Yes I you are promising to buy something from whoever's shop you get allocated, even if their things are not exactly to your taste... I guess most shops, you could probably find something that you would quite like, or that you could give to someone as a present or something? And then in return, someone will definately buy something from YOUR shop, which means your shop is more successful and has more ratings etc.?

Kessie: Yes, i do plan on doing this swap at least a few more times, maybe a monthly thing. Im not sure yet. Ill consider extending the send by deadline, but I figured since it doesn't require much, too much time isnt necessary ill add a day or two now.

Egalite: Ill also consider doing one thats regional, i realize that shipping isnt cheap. I sent an order out the other day of just a pair of earrings and a bow and it was $3.70 for all shipping cost. I only expect that people dont put on outrageous shipping fee's. Not that they must be free or extremely cheap.

Outsideartist: Yes, Kessie is right, even if there isnt anything that you like at the particular shop you must purchase, but someone must purchase from your shop as well. In addition if you dont like the purchase you can always give it as a gift or swap it in a swap. Hopefully you'll be partnered with someone who's shop you enjoy. :)

I have a few things for $5 in my etsy, but tons more on my own website, plus I could give my partner a coupon for free shipping.....would that work, or should it really be an etsy only thing....they could try etsy, and then if they do not see what they like they could buy from my regular shop?

Takaratown: Yes it is kind of an etsy only thing. BUT if you have both your partner will be able to choose. As long as you give them the option of etsy.

I think this is a great idea I would so join but I haven't got an etsy set up (yet!!). I plan to soon and hope you keep doing these so I can join in the future.

PinkZombie: thats great to hear, right now im plannin on doing one every so often. Perhaps once a month (which was suggested to me) But ill have to see how things go. Im pretty excited for it.
