I live in Little Rock, AR with my husband and 15 year old son and our 2 dogs. I love to make things. I also love yoga, running, baking, reading and anything else I can try. I once started a roller derby team!
I had never thought about it before I started swapping but I really love postcards! I prefer them written on with a little message and interesting stamps. But I'll take what I can get. As usual, the weirder the better!
Things I really like: tea cups (I love vintage china - I prefer the cup and saucer), orange, giraffes (I'm 6 feet tall), stationary, Alice in Wonderland, birds, kittens, wings, mermaids, music (guitars and pianos especially), things from other countries, stamps (like postage, not rubber), vintage anything.
My style is definitely shabby chic/ecclectic. I like anything colorful and interesting. I love used things also. I refuse to buy furniture new. Please feel free to send me used things that are in good shape or are artistically worn out.
Things I don't like: jewelry, butterflies, pastels, and cross stitch.
Halloween is my favorite holiday!
I love to read! Some of my favorites: Jane Austen, Harry Potter, Vonnegut, John Irving, Stephen King. I love chick lit. Sometimes there is nothing better than a romance novel. I'll read almost anything and I am one of those people that HAVE to finish a book once I've started it.
I love bookmarks too!
Movies are what my son and I do for fun! There is a $1 movie close to our house and you can find us there every weekend. I like docudramas the best but I love comedies too. Not a big fan of cartoons so I am glad my son is getting old enough to start watch a few (very few) pg-13 movies.
I really love old movies and musicals. One of my favorite movies of all time is "Funny Face".
This is a tough one. I tend to be all over the place. Lately I have been doing a lot of knitting and sewing. I made costumes for my friend and I to wear to the Jane Austen festival in Louisville. I like to quilt, also. Right now I am trying to make my Christmas gifts. My goal every year is to make all my gifts and unfortunately, I haven't gotten there yet. Maybe this year!
Craft items I would love to receive: paper, scrapbooking embellishmets (I don't scrapbook but I make a lot of my own cards and some altered art), beads, tiles (like for mosaic), quilting fabric (100% cotton), yarn (not novelty yarn though), buttons (especially mother of pearl), blank things (canvas, notecards, etc.).
I have 2 men in my life that I adore. Lucky me!
My husband is a nature/science guy. I can barely keep him out of the woods. He's a biologist and loves working with animals. He loves music, especially jam bands like Phish, Ben Harper and DMB. He likes to garden and grow vegetables. He is also a big football freak and LOVES the the Chicago Bears.
Things he would like: orange/blue knitted items, things he can hang on the wall, practical things (something he can use), bumper stickers (he's a liberal/eco), mix cd's of music he might like, tools, candy (hot tamales, skittles, fruity/chewy things) and footballs.
My other guy is my 15 year old son. He loves to read. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is his favorite book right now. He LOVES Starwars. He likes dogs more than anything - if it has a cute dog on it, he will love it. He likes chocolate. He is not really into sports. More nerdy - like his mom! He plays chess. He likes robots and electronics a lot, too.
