About Me

I need to start this with an apology- I first joined Swap Bot 3/4 years ago, shortly after this I lost my job and pretty much hid from anyone and everyone including Swap Bot. Im really sorry for letting down the person I was in a swap with at the time and have not been able to make it up to her as she's not been on Swap Bot for two years... I hope my past won't put you off wanting to swap with me, I have lot's of things I'd love to swap and share with you! :)

On to bigger and better things!

I'm currently self-employed: I print T-shirts & I bake cakes! I've printed t-shirts for as long as I can remember but 2 years ago decided it was time to do something about all the ideas and dreams I had so I took the plunge and started my own business. The cake baking is more recent- I baked my first cake a microwavable syrup pudding at 2 and a half (yet I am still rubbish at making a cup of tea) and have always played around with baking. Recently a HUGE cake shop and decorating school opened right near my house and I was instantly addicted! I took all 3 Wilton classes, attended the international cake show and begged for cake goodies for Christmas! I love experimenting with new flavours and can't seem to bake anything these days without covering it in edible glitter. Evrything is better with edible glitter!

One day I will have the time to complete all the little projects I have stored up in my head and in various little notebooks which I leave lying around all over the place.

I've had many different jobs- from Bookstore Assistant to Professional Dancer, from Aromatherapist to Model but my real passion lies in making things beautiful and my heart is in Event Design & Management.

Favorite Crafts

Soooo many! I love die cutting (I have a bigshot & a Craft Robo) because it's so simple but so effective, I especially love using it to cut fabrics and felt to make cute embelishments.

I enjoy- *altered art (esp. vinatagey styles) *jewellery making (I'm addicted to PMC) *airbrushing (though i've mostly only done this on nails or as body tattoos, i really want to learn it on a larger scale) *also enjoy messing around with Photoshop!

TV, Movies, Books etc..

TV- My fave shows tend to be "hang-over tv"- the type of things you can watch on a lazy Sunday!

I like watching factual stuff- especially anything on homes/diy - Location Location, Property Ladder, 60 Minute makeover. Or cooking- in particular Come Dine With Me for its great bitchy narrator! I also enjoy watching documentary (mostly the simple channel 5 ones which are brilliantly accesable and easy to watch)

I love sci-fi/fantasy stuff like Heroes, 4400, Lost

Um.. I'm also a fan of Top Gear (though by association only- my partner is involved in the show and I quickly become less of a fan when he's had a stressful day or has to go abroad for filming!*Even more annoying when this happens on my birthday! Booooo)

I try to avoid trashy/tacky stuff (i said TRY) but I can't resist America's Next Top Model.

Hate hate hate Big Brother/I'm a Celebrity etc etc

And I thought I didn't watch much tv!

Movies- Oooh lots but to narrow it down I'll reel off the first few faves that spring to mind- The Princess Bride National Treasure Inside Man The Labyrinth Happy Gilmore

Books- I used to work in a book shop and it was a wonderful (if sadly dead-ended) job. I've always loved being surrounded by books.

I like things with pretty pictures- Huge fan of Nigella Lawsons cookery books, mainly for the pictures though as so far every recipe I've tried has come out awful- and i'm a pretty good cook) Preston Baileys books on events and *styling are gorgeous

I love big coffee table books on beautiful things- art, architecture, events, fashion and I dream of having a house big enough for my own library room so I can pile them all around- on shelves, on tables and on cute stcks in corners. *I also like reading hits and tips on home decor/crafts etc

Likes

I love-

Dislikes

*country-style things (apples, geese/ducks, roosters...) *Clowns (urgh, scary) *babies (sorry but all that Anne Geddes stuff just freaks me out!)

*I don't wear earings- had 9 piercings before I realised I'm allergic to pretty much all earrings

*Ornaments, I like small ones ONLY if they're handmade

*Pamphlets/booklets on peoples views and opinions- religion, animal rights etc etc. Though I can't imagine anyone being so self-righteous that they would send this kind of thing.

Wishlist....

*American Pop-tarts because there are AMAZING flavours (like Cinnamon Roll, Apple Cinnamon and Splitz)that we just don't get here in the UK :( The same with Ben & Jerrys but sadly it wouldn't survive the posting... Also Girl Scout cookies- I've never tried them...

My first swap!

I'm a newbie and have just signed up to two swaps!

The first is a tea & stuff to read swap, I'm not crazy about tea but I picked up some fab ones at a recent food fair and am dying to share them and am excited to see what comes back, particularly the stuff to read (perhaps I could swap my teas for hot chocolate or cold drink mixes? not sure if this is allowed?)

My second is a Cupcake and ice cream swap which I'm really looking forward to!

Have spent the last few days watching the clock tick waiting for the sign up date to close so I can get started!

What can I do for you...?

You'll have to bear with me on this as I will add things periodically as they spring to mind so no doubt there'll be stuff missing... Fell free to ask/make suggestions!

*I make lots and lots of cards in numerous styles so I can offer these or supplies from my stash (brads, stickers etc)

*Die cuts

*Hello Kitty stuff

*Craft magazines

*English sweets etc

*Handmade felt stuffies (mostly cucakes/ice creams!)

*Filled/decorated Matchboxes

*Rubber stamps

*Hotel Toiletry Miniatures

*Socks! (there are two shops near me that do fab cute socks)

*Paperback books, mostly Dean Koontz (not so sure abot international postage though.. I'll have to check..)

Any suggestions just let me know!

Hi Louisa, I'm your partner for the tea and stuff to read swap. I am still in the process of getting your package together, but I just wanted to say Hi and that I will be switching tea for drink mixes and hot chocolate. :) Welcome to swap-bot.

I saw your message in the forums, and wanted to say welcome to swap-bot! I just started here a couple months ago -and have had a lot of fun.
My husband would be SO jealous, TopGear is his favorite show - although I believe we're a season behind here in the US.
Anyways, have fun swapping!!
