one swap pending (due to COVID, partner on & off swap-bot) but I am participating & hosting.
ALWAYS please let me know if you think I missed anything, I’ll work to make it right - if something has not arrived, machines and weather ate it, I misinterpreted the swap, postage was due, whatever.
FYI: Items mailed on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday may not be postmarked until Monday, sometimes Tuesday. Monday US/local holidays in 2024: 10/14, 11/11. In 2025, Jan20, 2/17, 5/26, 9/1, 10/13.
Even for "naked postcard" swaps, it's ok to send in an envie, if
I Pledge to Rate. Partners: Let me know if life happens and you need an extension.
Dh and I are allergic to cigarette smoke. Let me know if you've got smokers in your house. The house is also allergic to dogs - but that should not be an issue with paper craft, more with fabrics/lace.
Long profile warning: use headings to find what you need.
When I started, I preferred receiving postcards naked but now I prefer getting mail art and postcards with all their bits attached! Using an envelope or plastic sheet is not an excuse to skip gluing, but may be required if the top layer is easily scratched off paint, etc.
I love getting mail, creating, the light in autumn, purple and jewel tones, and some people.
Purple is my favorite color, followed by turquoise, lime green, burgundy, ... bright colors, jewel tones, ethnic mixes, dark colors, most anything but princess-y or “pesto-bismol” pink and not generally fond of pastels.
Read a lot, especially science fiction, fantasy, and mysteries and information on education & learning. I love myths and legends and non-Disney fairy tales, Favorite authors: Family's: Terry Prattchet (for his DiscWorld books) & Tamora Pierce. Mine: Tolkien, A. A. Milne, Tamora Pierce. Picture books: Jan Brett.
we rarely use bookmarks, any would have to be glitter-free and the bit that goes in the book must be thin and flat, sad this needs explaining. (Charms or beads may hang out or over the top!)
Jewel tones. Handmade Postcards. (On and off) Paper dolls, altered postcards. (no longer collecting ATCs although have a ton) Clever use of book pages and maps. Love non-English papers & music sheets, maps, custom paper
I don't need extras but if the swap requires QUICK FLATS: washi tape, napkins, (used) postage stamps (especially people, animals, flowers, architecture, art/artists). I don't want/need recipe cards, memo pads, ATCs nor bookmarks. Thanks.
Postcards: love hand-made! In general: art, natural settings, architecture or "local people", Photos of animals. Not interested in kitch-y tourist postcards or naked people on (or off) the beach. geek-y ones are appreciated
Most Asian & ethnic things are fine - but I don't appreciate much kawaii.
*My family is allergic to cigarettes, cats & dogs so for crafts with fabric & pets walking around, I probably should not be the one you send it to! If you do with a sender's choice - PLEASE let me know so that I can keep it away from the family, or pass it on. *I will rate ignoring cigarette smell but warn me so someone else can open it - outside. Thanks. *of course if it’s Sender’s Choice or a bond swap you will not be rated down at all! But my dislikes include: * Christian religious pieces. (non-religious Christmas items are OK in November & December.) * loose glitter. A tiny bit on a ATC or postcard (if USPS allows it) but certainly zero on a bookmark! * Don't appreciate much peptomismol pink, Barbie, or helpless princesses. Nor Disney. Thanks
Tea only in manufacturer's packaging, thanks! No drink mixes, unless required in swaps. (Dh & I get that unpleasant after-taste from artificial sweeteners.) Favorite tea (today): Republic of Tea sangria-robous, turmeric-ginger, (black tea) Prince of Wales, mint green tea, and (only iced in summer) grapefruit robous.
Lots of food allergies here: love dark chocolate. Cannot have gluten, wheat, dairy, or soy (not even soy lecithin!). Prefer European chocolate, made in Europe (even Cadbury made in the US is different!) I've never appreciated Godiva. Do not like peanuts in chocolate.
Great hosts include @rngstgstll @wolfeagle @rockybeach
"normality is a paved road; it's comfortable to walk but no flowers grow there"
(No changed proposed for "first class" rates in January 2025): U.S. letters and international letters must be rectangular and made of paper to qualify for USPS letter rates. Letter envelopes can be between 5.5" x 3.5 " and (up to) 11-1/2" long x 6-1/8" high, and no more than 1/4" thick. There is no special postcard rate for postcards mailed from the USA to other countries.
Within USA in Aug 2024: Stamped first class letter rate is $0.73. For the postcard rate ($0.56 or "forever") a card must be: * rectangular, * at least 3-1/2 inches high x 5 inches long x 0.007 inch thick, AND * no more than 4-1/4 inches high x 6 inches long x 0.016 inches thick.
If PC is larger than 4.25 x 6 " (but less than 6-1/8" x 11-1/2" x 1/4" thick), use first class postage. Larger than that and the "flats" (large envie) rate applies.

Thank you so much for the beautiful RAK Paint over newspaper PC. I love how you used the different newspaper prints to create. Thank you for sharing your art with me! Aloha!
Thanks for joining Artistically Inclined group. Good group!!
Mystery supply swap, star received! Very nicely wrapped and a fun art piece. Thank you!
Thank you Robin for the surprise extra card for the Person-with-animal-head swap!! The well-trained crocodile is fun! I agree, searching for fitting pieces takes sometimes more time that I would like. Especially when I get distracted by other pieces I find during the process and start to work with them too.
Thank you for the fun mystery supply swap, again mail!
Thank you for the postcard for the AMA:Mystery Supply Swap. Clever turning the Octopus in to a tree.
Hello c: I saw that you left a comment on my profile about watercolors! Thank you for informing me about those watercolor brushes. I should go check them out. Hope your Thursday is going well!
