Hi! My name is Lisa. I am 47 years old, single, and have lived in Upstate New York my entire life. I have no kids, but am lucky to be an aunt to many beautiful nieces and nephews.

I love animals, but do not currently have pets. At some point in the future I hope to be a happy dog owner :-)

My job is as an IT Analyst at our regional gas & electric utility company. It's work that keeps me busy, and I have a nutty bunch of coworkers that keep me busier.

I love music. I've been singing for years and also play the piano. I just started taking violin lessons in January and am having a ball so far!

I like a wide variety of music, but my favorite genres tend to be r&b, pop and rock. Specific artists or groups that I really enjoy are: Regina Spektor, Usher, TLC, Jason Mraz, Matt Nathanson, Joshua Kadison, Natasha Bedingfield, Taylor Swift, Josh Groban.

Although I'm open to discovering new artists or groups, I don't really care for:

• most country music
• most rap music
• jazz
• metal

80s music and show tunes are my guilty pleasure :-)

I love historical fiction like the novels written by Phillipa Gregory. I also really like short stories or novels about other cultures, especially Indian or Asian. I've read and enjoyed books by Jodi Picoult, the Twilight series, all of the Harry Potter books, and the Lord of the Rings series by Tolkien.

Nonfiction-wise, I like things like biographies, cookbooks and books about crafting.

I don't enjoy romance novels, comic books, most science fiction and most mysteries.

Tying in with my reading picks, I love the Harry Potter films, the Lord of the Rings films and I enjoyed the Twilight movie. Being the sentimental sap that I am I also love movies like The Notebook, A Walk To Remember, A League of Their Own, Steel Magnolias and Dead Poets Society. Amelie and Office Space also make my list.

I don't like horror movies.

I don't watch a huge amount of TV, but This Is Us is a favorite. I also like Transplant, Chicago Med and 90 Day Fiancé.

I miss Dead Like Me.

I started out with cross stitch and embroidery, but have tried many other things since then - knitting, stained glass, beading, papercrafts, soapmaking, sewing and crocheting.

Currently I really enjoy crocheting but am interested in trying all sorts of new things!
