I enjoy listening to music especially classical, opera at the Met on Sunday morning, soft rock, and bagpipes. I also enjoy playing around with many types of art media, especially exploring new materials. I have dappled in quilting, hand sewing, plein air painting (watercolor), drawing, collaging, digital art, fabric painting, stamping and paper crafting. I enjoy bird watching, gardening, going to the ocean beaches and to the high country.

I live in the country with my husband and have been married for 39 years. Our sweet as apple pie, four-legged, princess, River, (who is a dog) is our only child and by the way who loves to where sweaters.

My favorite color is green and colors of a sunset, I like to collect stones from places I've visited, I was born in Canada, I've raised geese, so feathers are a big deal. I collect feathers and have a small Christmas tree decorated all year with birds and feathers on it. I like tartan, I perfer circles to squares, I like science fiction especially Ray Bradbury, I love Downton Abbey and British movies.

The creative process is important to me, and I enjoy the process of the conception of an idea and then the journey from the idea to a finished piece of art.

Lately I've been creating stamps using ordinary foam sheets. First finding or creating an image that appeals to me, most of which have to do with nature. I like to use ink & colored markers with these images along with colored pencil for the finer details.

I also enjoy working with any kind of paper, homemade, magazine images, decorative to either collage, paint, or to create handmade mini booklets, art journals, assorted mini books such as flip/flap, accordian etc. In addition to the books, I also enjoy creating collage postcards and adding the unexpected to a piece. I love creating sculptural pieces with paper / foam core / cardboard and making paper figures that are either collaged, painted, or zentangle designs added to it.

I have a passion for batik fabric and I also enjoy creating art with bits and pieces of this fabric as well as wall hangings using my own design and patterns.

Flowers - any kind but especially wild native flowers to an area

Birds - any kind, though favorites are chickadees, common house sparrow, hummingbirds, peacocks, finch, robins, nuthatches and owls

Other - Caribou, deer, fox, chipmunks, horses, dogs, wolves, fish, rabbits, lambs.

I also love texture, color ( bright or subdued depending on my mood, collecting odds and ends such as postmarked stamps, along with small rocks, leaves, great nature images as well as abstract.
