I'm a 40-something SAHM & part time student. I have a 13 yo DS, 12 yo DD & 9 yo DD. I also have 1 cat. I love vintage/ retro style, indie crafts, sewing, crochet, scrapbooking & other crafty pursuits. I like chrome, classic cars & muscle cars. I don't really like rustic or country type crafting.

I'm pro-treat. I love chocolate- unloaded & loaded (nuts, fruits, chiles, it's all good), cookies & toffee. However, it's quite hot here from May to September, so as much as it pains me to write this, it's probably better not to send stuff that can melt during that time period.

About books- I love to read! I enjoy fiction and non- fiction. I like just about anything except for religious literature, romance and hard-core science fiction. I don't mind thriller, but I'm not so much into horror either. I love a good mystery, fantasy, 'chick- lit', biographies, true crime, & classics. Some of my favorite authors right now are Patrick Rothfuss, George R.R. Martin, Banana Yoshimito, Nancy Mitford, & Joanne Harris.

On colors- I like most colors. I'm not a huge fan of fluorescents or pastels. My sewing area is pink & brown. I really like lime green, pink/brown, blue/brown, orange, almost all greens & browns. I like red stuff, but don't wear red.

Also, I am a big fan of reduce, reuse, recycle. I try to reuse boxes, packing materials, tissue paper, and anything else that will hold up to it. I love handcrafted items and try to support small, local businesses & artists. I strive to buy local, organic & fair trade when possible.

I love most kinds of music... alternative, old country, rockabilly, blues, jazz, classical, classic rock, and swing music. My favorite artists are Eurythmics, Annie Lennox, Ani DiFranco, Patsy Cline, Bob Wills, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Prima, Robert Johnson, Rancid & Social Distortion. I'm not a huge fan of most hip-hop, rap or current country.

I like action, independent film, documentaries, thrillers, classics, spaghetti westerns, mystery & foreign films. I'm not a big fan of horror films or 'pull my finger' type humor. Some movies I'll always watch if they're on are Long Kiss Goodnight, Thelma and Louise, Steel Magnolias, The Thin Man, Hudson Hawk, Tank Girl, Lilo and Stitch, About a Boy, Chocolat, Royal Tennenbaums, Blast From the Past, Everything is Illuminated & French Kiss.

I don't really watch TV. I loved Coupling on BBC. I like old & new Doctor Who. In theory, I like Sherlock, Wallander, & Hinterland.

I don't get much crafting time right now b/c my kids are into EVERYTHING!!! We do stuff together, but it's more for their fulfillment than mine, KWIM? I sew clothes, & occasionally something for the house, late at night. I carry crocheting & needlework around w/ me for those 'stolen moments'. These days I seem to be really into making cards. One day, when I can trust the kids to not sharpie the furniture, poke each other w/ needles, or ingest the glue I will spend more time expanding my craft horizons. (This section needs to be updated.)
