I've tried most crafts over the years. I was always encouraged with traditional crafts such as sewing, knitting etc., From a very young age I would fill notebooks with little sketches of animals and wildlife which I continue to this day. I also like to cross stitch and up until recently I have been making ATC's. My latest pastime is patchwork and quilting using old dress material which brings such happy memories of when I was a child (yes that old!) and of course my childrens various outfits I've made for them when they were young. I have just finished a course on how to make stained glass using the Tiffany technique which is ongoing.

My favourite books just have to be Tess of the D'urbervilles by Thomas Hardy and most of his works. The Magic Apple Tree by Susan Hill. Any books on cottage gardening. I don't read fiction very often, the occasional biography but most of the books on my shelves are reference books nature, gardening and craft.

I live in England, in a small coastal town where I was born.I have been married for 24 years and have 3 children. We have a beautiful 3yr old Irish Wolfhound, 6 chickens, 1 duck, 2 rabbits, 1 tortoise and a dozen or so goldfish!.

My favourite television programmes are the wonderful period drama's. Lark Rise to Candleford written by Flora Thompson has been the best recent 'must see'. I like documentaries on all sorts of subjects, forensic science I find fascinating and medical science in general.

I would like to live in an old cottage with a garden full of old roses and scented flowers situated in the middle of nowhere. There would be woodland nearby, a wildlife pond, a paddock with some outbuildings. It would also have a beautiful view including a village with its church spire perched on a hill and in the far distance, behind that, the sea.

Favourite colours are pink, earth tones and colours of the sea.

I enjoy Genealogy, and have researched my family back to 1750's, gardening and walking.
