Favorite Books

Art, Craft, Non-fiction, Business, Fav mag "Cloth Paper Scissors" I have a large collection of cookbooks, theater books/plays, Christian/spirtuality books, business books, art books, and craft books.

Favorite Movies

A Room With A View, My Life as a Dog,(original w/subtitles) I also love Fantasia, Toy Story and other great animation. Wallace and Gromit crack me up. Overt violence or rape in a movie will make me turn it off or walk out of the theater.

Favorite Crafts

Things that "contain" - boxes, envelopes, compacts,

Assemblage

Digital art and photography,

paper arts,

recycled art, vintage art, altered art,(including altering furniture and clothing)

Light - I know that sounds wierd, but I'm a theater lighting designer and LOVE the non-tactile sculptural art of light.

diarama's

sewing and art quilting

I also paint - watercolor, acrylic, water based latex.

I've always loved paper and ribbons, and lately, with the trend of scrapbooking and card making becoming popular, I just love all the new "stuff" - even if I don't scrapbook.

About Me

Theater mole,

spiritual- I try to live by the saying that John Wesley pronounced: Do Good, Do No Harm,Love God with all your heart. I don't mind receiving religious items. I think being tolerant and open minded to others' beliefs gives us more opportunity to grow.

I Love change and am always looking for new arts and adventure.

Love reading, writing, and working on art stuff in my studio.

Entreprenurial(Realtor, vintage and collectible shop, have sold artwork and crafts, freelance designer)

Community minded,(that's local, regional and the world community, too), Antique and vintage collector, seller and trader.

Although I'm trying to have "waist management", I love good chocolate and can't wait for the Easter season so that I can find the cadbury caramel eggs!

Married to a wonderful man since 1993. My sweet husband is many years my senior, and though he loves seeing me working in the studio, I'm not sure he really gets the whole "swapping" thing. Anyway...if I'm in a DH swap of some kind, he loves interesting ties, all things golf, is a graphic artist, loves salsa and jazz, is of Puerto Rican heritage, and is the sweetest, most thoughtful man I've ever met. He also loves wine, martinis, and cooks like a dream. (How lucky am I?)

I'm not real into the "Hello Kitty" genre of stuff.

No smoking, animals(too heart broken after our dog died a couple of years ago) or children (went through infertility treatments for several years with no luck) at our home. I do, however, keep a toybox in the closet for little friends who visit:)

etc.

Best piece of advice I ever got in school: Feed yourself well - your whole self - heart, soul, eyes, ears...everything. Surround yourself with things that inspire you.

I've collected penguins and frogs for years(mostly small pins and such),and also have some whimsical pigs,(some with wings), sheep and other sweet little beings, poking about in our home.

I collect hand thrown pottery and I collect interesting pitchers.

I Like to bake and I make awesome caramels.

Have way too much fabric.

Like to do art/craft swaps because it forces me to go and be creative, even when I don't think I have time.

I upload some pictures of my swaps on flickr.com at the swap-bot swaps group.

Allergic to some perfumes,so I just steer clear of most scented items.

I love well thought-out projects and art work. I work hard to make my swaps special for my partner, and hope you do to.

If I'm your swap partner, you will probably get your swap early. I can hardly wait to get started most of the time, and usually am one of the first to send.

Also, please let me know when you get your swap from me. When there is no rating or e-mail, I get worried that it didn't make it. I always send and I always rate. Thanks:0) There's no need to lie to me if you are sending late - just send me a note that you are still working on it and let me know when you send.

likes and gots

Likes: If we're swapping something with a scent or flavor I prefer the "clean" kind - neutral, citrus, peppermint. If it's sweet treats, I'm a chocolate, caramel or dried fruit kind of gal.Teas I like them all, especially herbal. Coffee, too. Hot or cold.

When it comes to color, I really like them all- pastels, bright, primary, muted: you name it, I like it. I've always liked the combination of teal, purple and green.

Some things I'd like to learn

I'd like to learn to weld and the finer techniques of soldering.

I'd like to be a part of a group that met to explore, using the arts, some of the bigger questions in life .

I'd like to learn to quilt, knit and crochet better.

Comment: I loved everything . You picked great items. My granddaughter (18 months)is fighting me over the scarf unfortunately. She saw it and grabbed it immediatedly and began saying"mine, mine, mine!" Your card was great too, Do you sell those? i almost thought it was my town. Keep Smiling and Keep Swapping Suzanne
Response: I don't know what it is about those scarves - they are kid magnets! I made a series of cards called,"my hometown" for a Christmas bazaar. What didn't sell, I'm using. Glad you liked it:)

Comment: I love the art you sent and ready to hang too. Thank you. The hand made paper is great. Its a little light to paint on directly. I usually mount this type on 140 lb cold press watercolor paper then paint on it. It makes wonderful backgrounds for ATC's or to just paint on. Again Thanks.
Response: I never thought of mounting that handmade paper on cold press. That's a great idea - thanks! Glad you liked "circle of life". All the best -cp

Response: I'm so glad you liked it! I'll let you know if I decide to go ahead and write more on Suzanna:)

Comment: Gorgeous! I love that you worked in so many of my themes. The Bonsai tree is probably my favorite part, but I also adore the way you painted the moon on the back. Again, I'm sorry for the late rating. I could have sworn I had already rated this because I was so excited when the shrine came in!
Response: I'm so glad you got it, and that you liked it:) You had great themes to work with!

Comment: I just love the use of vintage ties to make the purse, adn the necklace is a perfect strap! As for the fillers, WOW! I must gush particularly over the handworked pillowcase - that is a true heirloom, and I will treasure it. The crochet motifs are wonderful, and I have plans to carefully applique them onto a skirt. The small pouch is perfect for a tatting shuttle, and I will love using the other goodies as well. Thanks for a lovely swap package!
Response: *Blush* I'm so glad you liked the package! I had a good time making it for you:)
