Hello! I'm new to this site, but not to swapping. I'm (52F), together with my SO (55M), raising our children together... just 2 more still in school!
We have a very large family... I have 2 sons and 2 daughters, and 4 stepsons. Only 3 are still at home.
I work as an Occupancy Specialist for subsidized public housing, and I absolutely love my job!
I love almost ALL music! It doesn't matter if it's top 40, 80's, 90's, rock, some rap, definitely country! The family is often just jamming in the kitchen, listening to whatever is playing on the Alexa. I have a spare Echo in my office to listen to, but it is often audiobooks or podcasts.
I'm currently into diamond painting, but hardly ever finish a project. I also like to paint... although I am my own biggest critic.
I'm currently taking 1 easy design of a sunrise over a mountain and using that same template in many different craft medias.
I also love DIY and repurposed item, such as furniture. My latest project is an old console TV from the 70's - turned unto a dog bed.
I don't watch much "tv", but I do like to binge-watch on Netflix. Current obsessions are re-watches of such classics such as Ozarks, Supernatural, Interview with the Vampire, and Tiger King.
I've been listening to a lot of audiobooks lately, since I can listen while I work. Mostly thrillers, but I'll check out recommendations, so if you have a favorite that I simply must read, let me know! One of my favorites was Island of the Sea Women by Lisa See that I read as part of a book club assignment. I really enjoyed it, although others did not. I listen on audiobook, which I believe was the difference.
I have been pen palling for over 30 years, and still talk to my very first pen pal.
I rescue Rottweilers and exotic animals. I have 3 Rottweilers, 2 yorkies, and a Portuguese water dog, 2 black Persian cats, 2 parrots, an iguana, an Argentine black and white tegu, a sulcata tortoise, and a ball python.
I love houseplants! My houseplants total 17 at this time.
I run a true crime discussion group in my city. It's kind of like a book club, but we delve into true crime cases, then meet up to discuss cases, theories, evidence, trials, etc. Some of us are former or current law enforcement officers, 2 fiction authors, a few students, and others are just normal, everyday people.
