I am a Married, mother of 3. I have, 2 girls 17 and 27 and one son 23. Grandmother or "nana" to 2 girls 4 yrs and 1 month. More on my family at the end of this profile

My favorite pastimes are reading, surfing the internet and crafting. I enjoy many different types of crafting but my specialty is jewelry making. I have a craft room/studio just off my home. It has all the necessary comforts air conditioning, (I live in the deep south!), cable TV etc. plus tons and tons of various craft supplies, probably more than I can ever use. Sometimes I think I may be more of a collector of craft supplies than I am a crafter. I find it very hard to turn down any crafting bargin no matter how many I might already have.

My children all live close by and we are a very close family. My parents and sibling live within a 3 hour drive. Family is very important to me and I consider being a mother and grandmother the most important part of my life on earth.

My goals have bee to raise independant women with healthy self esteems who have the confidence to choose thier own paths in life. And to raise a man who is strong but sensative and who respects not only his fellow man but every woman he comes in contact with. My children continue to make me very proud as I watch them become amazing adults. This has by far been the greatest reward of parenthood so far.

My granddaughters are the icing on my cake, I am dedicated to them. I have a wonderful relationship with my 4 year old who, I am happy to say ,adores me as well. I know the same will be true with the new baby as she grows.

One of the most rewarding jobs I have ever had was as a certified childbirth educator and doula. I also co-owned a business where we trained and certified other educators and doulas. I still have an intrest in the field and keep in touch with my former business partner, but physical limitations have made it impossible for me to be actively involved for many years Most recently I have worked as a middle school secretary, which I also loved. At the current time I on disability.

I am more on the introvert side so I am not sure how comfortable I will be becoming part of this community. However, I have always been interested in sharing my work with others but have never been interested in the business side of crafting.. Swapping sounds like the perfect way to share my over stock of creations, so I can make even more, and to enjoy the talents of others as well. I hope this proves to be a fun adventure.
