APRIL 2021: Hey everyone! Just a heads up that I'll be slowing down on swaps in the spring and summer. I've got some big projects coming up, and spend the rest of my time camping or hiking, and checking the mail isn't very frequent. Looking forward to swapping again in the fall!

Hello! I'm Katelynn.

Born and raised in Canada at the edge of the Rocky mountains, I opened an Etsy store in the summer of 2020 selling handmade bookmarks, and have been expanding my portfolio as an artist. In the summers I pack up my books and art supplies and explore the mountains in my lime green conversion ambulance, and in the winters I hide away and wait for warm weather to return. I drink waay too much coffee, wine, and whiskey, cook recipes with double the required garlic and butter, and live in leggings and baggy sweaters.

Over the years I've been incredibly fortunate to have traveled to many countries in my free time, and after being landlocked to Alberta since Covid I've been even more grateful for the trips I was able to take. My plan in the next year or two is to get a visa and move abroad, learn a new language, and immerse myself in a new country or culture, but until then I've savoured the couch-travelling that postcrossing and swap-bot allow with swaps. I'd love to hear about where you live, what it's like, so if you're wondering what to write I'd love some local travel advice to add to my "to visit" list!

I used to be on swapbot and postcrossing, but have long since lost my old accounts. Sending and receiving beautiful mail art is one of my favourite things at the moment, I enjoy the odd ATC but lately have found myself making more postcard than ATC's. Feel free to message if you'd like to do a private mail art trade!!

LIKES

• Anything dark, creepy, black, gothic, or halloween related. My Halloween starts September 1st (no lie).
• Quotes, Book recommendations, calligraphy, and handwriting
• Handmade art and postcards (please feel free to send me a handmade postcard instead of a store-bought even if the challenge calls for it).
• Travel and finding new spots I need to visit. I'd love to know where you would recommend I visit in your area!!
• Languages. I would swoon to receive a handwritten note or quote written in another language.
• Stamps and postmarks - if you can get the letter/postcard stamped at the post office it would make my day!
• Harry Potter (proud Slytherin over here!)
• Anything and everything fantasy.
• Anime & manga. Howl's Moving Castle is my favourite movie of all time.
• Chocolate (without fruit).
• Coffee over tea everyday.
• My favourite colour is blue and my favourite animal is a wolf.

DISLIKES

• Kid / child-like items unless I signed up for a kid-themed swap specifically.
• Religious, sports, military, & political items. There's enough stuff when watching the news, I'd rather keep the fun mail fun.

Despite my likes & dislikes up above, for art and ATC swaps please send things in your own style and of things that make you happy! I have a vast array of likes and dislikes and am not easily offended. Art is meant to be expressed the way you feel it, so please send and make whatever feels right for you!!

The ATC's and Mail Art swaps I will send won't have much, if any stickers. I enjoy working in a variety of mediums - charcoal, ink, scratchart, watercolour, gouache, and acrylic - so I treat each of them as mini paintings or drawings. I hope you're not disappointed by them! I've never been good at scrapbooking or bullet journaling, but my goodness do I admire those who are!!
