Hello. I am thrilled to have stumbled onto Swap-Bot! I am still working even though I am past retirement age so I can save money for travel. I live in Chicago and have a son and daughter, both of whom have December birthdays. I live with two parakeets, one noisy and one quiet (but he is new to the scene and getting adjusted).

A few years ago I realized how much fun it is communicating with postcards. I'm open to penpals and real letters, though, if we share interests.

My interests are: reading, especially history and mysteries,

watching British tv shows,

communicating via postcards.

singing in my church choir,

listening to classical music,

and playing cards and word games, especially Boggle and Bananagrams.

I am interested in: architectural details, art nouveau, art deco, and cemetaries,

sacred art and stained glass,

mountains and bodies of water,

traditional crafts, textiles,

Artists: Elizaveta Bem, Carl Larson, Inge Look, Robert Finale, Callebotte, Caravaggio and the Impressionists. And anyone who paints domestic scenes and seascapes.

I enjoy watching: Jeopardy, MAS*H, I Love Lucy, NYPD Blue, E.R., the West Wing, the Good Wife, Frasier, Chicago PD, Chicago Fire, NCIS New Orleans. We don't have cable and don't get in many network tv channels.

I'm also fond of: Christmas, Easter and Halloween,

quotations, puns, corny jokes,

cleverness and whimsy,

crosswords, mazes, word puzzles

autumn and winter,

vintage photos and advertising,

dogs, puffins, rabbits, ducks, koalas and African animals,

irises and peonies,

baseball and hockey,

colors blue, green and purple,

and, most importantly, chocolate!
