NOTE 2 DEC 24': I will be slowing down swapping the entirety of Dec (after I've posted my last swap) as xmas swaps just aren't my thing. But, I'll still be popping in to rate recieved mail and reply to any messages.
Hello! I’m a 36 year old homebody who lives with my boyfriend and our two rescue cats (a siamese tortie & a shorthair tortie) in sunny Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I used to have an account here about half a decade ago but deleted it when life went kind of south. I had to tear myself away from my more expensive hobbies and I’ve completely regretted it since.
I’m mostly back in search of a crafty penpal but I do love swapping and the occasional trade as well. If you’d like to be a penpal, drop me a DM! Even you don’t have to like the same things as me (variety is the spice of life after all) that’s cool but it’s always a bonus if you enjoy the type of goodies I send.
I’m happiest at home with a tea and a book but I love living in a big city. There’s always something to do (or eat). When I do venture out, I love going to bookstores, weekend craft markets and cafes. We do have an excellent array of restaurants in Kuala Lumpur, however, which is what I love best about this city and there is always something to munch on at any hour of the day.
I'll be posting my outgoing swaps and happy mail on Instagram at maliceandjones.
I enjoy crocheting, reading (I have to limit myself to a book a week to pace it out), embroidery, home decor, gardening, aquascaping, making papercrafts like TN journals and inserts or flipbooks. I have also recently rediscovered my love for doodling and watercolours so expect a scribble in your postbox every now and again if we become penpals.
My favourite crafting motifs are all over the place:- nature and animals (mainly leaves and forest animals) → magic, astronomy related & the moon → cozy fall cottagecore elements with a touch of whimsigoth. Sometimes just straight up witchy goodness → tea, coffee, cafe elements → creepy, monster-y yami kawaii girliness (like Domi World) →Y2K elements (CDs, tamagotchis, flip phones, etcl → handmade or interestingly textured paper & materials.
penpal letters → sticker flakes & sheets → paper (interesting textures, vintage pages, labels, cutouts, etc) → washi & PET tape → tea (I love fruity teas and curious flavours like blueberry muffin) → pressed flowers & leaves → vintage travel maps & postcards → handmade Traveler's Notebook inserts → siamese and tortie cat related things → wax seals → snacks (currently, am not in the position to send anything more than flat airmail so I can't get into a snack exchange rn but I miss this so much).
anything religious → children’s/reward stickers → planner supplies → cosmetics → loose glitter → herbal teas → instant coffee sachets (however I do enjoy instant drip bags) → Harry Potter.
It’s not that I don’t appreciate it. Honestly, I believe that every swap I've received in the past had been created with the best of intentions but I would likely not use these and I don’t think I should collect more clutter.
From what I can remember, airmail to and from Malaysia can be a little slow so please be patient with mail coming from my corner of the world. On my end, I'll always rate as soon as I open a swap but if you haven’t received anything within 6 weeks, drop me a DM. I’m always happy to resend.
If I haven't rated you, it's because I haven't received your swap yet. If your outgoing swap hasn't arrived to my mailbox within 6 weeks I'll check in with you as well.
