I'm an art quilter who designs my own quilts from commercial fabrics. I make all kinds of quilts from funky traditional to fine art. Color is my passion and I teach classes on Creative Machine Quilting and the Color Wheel. I enjoy creating quilts that are beautiful yet unique, that honor the rich history and tradition of quilting and enjoy today's technology and techniques to bring my designs to life. To me, the best part of quilting is the wonderful relationships I have made with other quilters, who are the most generous and creative people I've known.

I'm an author so I enjoy any song that tells a story. My favorites are Billy Joel, Bonnie Raitt, Indigo Girls, REM, Paul McCartney, and Stevie Wonder.

All time favorite is Peace Like a River by Leif Enger. It's the kind of book I wish I could have written. If you haven't read it, really do yourself a favor and make the time for this one.

Favorite quilting books are by Gwen Marston, Freddy Moran, Roberta Horton, Ruth McDowell, and Mary Lou Weidman.

I enjoy the Elm Creek Quilts series and have read about four of them.

Enjoy almost any book about art, and have lots on Matisse, Picasso, Renoir, Monet, Faith Ringgold, and Jacob Lawrence.

Good writing is what interests me on television, so I enjoy Monk, The Closer, and Medium. Almost anything on PBS.

I'm artist who loves to quilt. I'm venturing out into a little embellishment, but still learning lots about it. I also love to crochet (newbie), paint watercolor, sketch, and journal.

Things I'd Like: Almost anything to do with quilting: good fabrics, of course, thread, floss, beads. I love to draw so I enjoy art supplies like pencils, markers, journals, and paints. I love chocolate, bread, salad, good recipes and am really trying to eat more fiber! Any high fiber recipes appreciated.

Things I'd Prefer Not to Get: Scrapbooking materials, ATCs, stickers, knick-knacks, quilting tools, gum, hard candy, CDs. I know others love these, they are just not my preference.

My favorite part of quilting is the relationships I make with other quilters. I live in a small town and teach here, but don't get to travel to other locations to teach as much as I would like. So, I offer lots of resources on my blog, including free ebooks, color lessons, and lots of instructional posts. I enjoy hearing from other quilters so please stop by and drop me a line!
