As I was looking through Pinterest, I found this awesome idea. Forgive me if someone has already done this as a swap, however, I looked and didn't find anything. The website http://www.marthastewart.com/266388/envelope-books shows how to make these books. For this swap, you don't have to follow these instructions. You can create an envelope book however you want to as long as it contains the following: A decorative book cover and back that are fairly sturdy. (cardboard, plastic, etc. ) 12 decorated envelopes bound together to create the pages. Each envelope should be decorated and filled with a small surprise. (surprises could be anything from a small trinket, craft paper, sticker, some kind of embellishment) 1 book to 1 partner I really can't wait to start making this myself so hopefully some of you will be interested. I am going to give us a while to make this so that we can really make this something nice for each other. I am making this USA only for those of you who want to postage cost down. If there are people who want to do this internationally, I will set one up, just message me. Ratings must be at least a 4.9 with no unexplained 1 or 3's. The 1 and 3 ratings can't be within the past year. I think this a big project so, you should have completed at least 50 type 3 swaps in order to join. If you feel that you really want to do this swap, and don't meet these requirements you can message me and explain your situation. Although, I will consider someone with less type 3 swaps, it doesn't mean I will let you in. I really don't want anyone to get flaked on, so please don't hold it against me.

Would envelopes made from scrapbook paper count as "decorated", or do we need to actually decorate twelve plain store bought envelopes?

The wesite to blind it with bookbinding tape, do we have to use it or can we use mashing tape, shipping tape? Where do you find bookvlinding tape at?

I changed the rating to a 4.9. I want all of us to recieve top notch work and not get stuck with a flaker. Hopefully everyone will understand. Everyone in our swap is safe so far!!

Purplebutterfly, I haven't even begun to look for it. You can use whatever works for you and your book. It doesn't have to go along with those instructions. I just put that up there for people (like me) who had no clue what an envelope book was.

I have some long envelopes with on opening at the top can I use them? Is that 12 envelopes or just 12 sides which would be 6 envelopes. sorry just want to make sure. also do we decorate the whole envelope or do we leave spaces for say photos

Flowerlady, If you can find a way to make your envelopes work you can use them. It is 12 individual envelopes bound together. You can decorate them however you like. If you want to contact your partner when they are up to find out what their preference is you can do that, but you don't have to. Hope this helps
