I am a Stage Breast Cancer SURVIVOR! Because of my own journey, I have been making book thongs to take to those who having their chemotherapy. Many patients find reading during the 6 - 8 hour infusion, really helps.I cannot keep up with the need. So, I am reaching out to my Swap-Bot friends and asking for help. If you can make two book thongs, I will add the Breast Cancer ribbon and the pink ribbons to the end. I have been using #11 seed beads to do the bulk of the book thong. I also add some pretty pink glass beads as focal points. The book thong is approximately 9" long. Using beading wire, crimp each end so that there is a loop for me to attach the charm and ribbon. I go to the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah and this is where I will take the finished items. I package them using Breast Cancer graphics and include a note of encouragement. (You care encouraged to write your own note....place make it the size of an ATC card to be enclosed. I appreciate the help and may there soon be a cure for this cancer that affects many everyday. THIS IS AN ON GOING REQUEST......

I don't know how to make the book thongs or I would love to help. My aunt is a breast cancer survivor/ fighter. My sister is a thyroid cancer survivor.

My father and 3 Uncles, 1 Aunt and my grandmother we taken because of cancer. This is a GREAT undertaking. I wish there was something I could make for you too, since I can't I will pray that those who join the swap can make you many many book marks. I just wanted to thank you.

I will google the instructions and if you won't mind sending me some as well. I don't know if I have the small beads that are pink. My SHM {sweetheart man} just got me two packages of small multi colored and lots of pink in them, seed beads that are the smallest I have ever seen. I would be willing to make some. Let me go and see if I have the materials to make them and google the way how to. I love this idea and I will tell my sisters about it, she is on swapbot too. I know her and her husband will want to help. it might be after the swap date but that won't matter huh.

This is an on going thing for me.....so whatever people can help with and whenever will be greatly appreciated. I usually do use a mixture of pinks whites and other colors. But mainly pinks since that is the color for breast cancer.
