Description:

This swap is for anyone who enjoys making and sending handmade cards and bookmarks. If it is popular, I will try to host a different theme every few weeks. I apologize, in advance, if this has been done before. I have not seen anything quite like it since joining Swap-Bot.

The theme for this swap is ‘Asian’. Think Bonsai, Koi Fish, Pandas, Dragons, Pagodas, Bamboo, Paper Lanterns, Yin and Yang, Decorative Fans, Sushi, Asian inspired floral, etc. You get the picture…

Please hand-make one card (don’t forget to include an envelope) and one bookmark that your swap partner can use. Card should be left unwritten so your partner can send it out. Any occasion, or leave blank for your partner to decide how to send.

Please be sure you send your partner something that you are proud of making. Add unique elements to your card and bookmark to make them stand out from the norm.

Asian theme and materials are sender’s choice. I’m a big-time papercrafter, so that is how I will send my swap out. However, bookmarks can be painted, drawn, stamped, crocheted, beaded, etc. Cards can be painted, papercrafted, stamped, hand drawn, etc. Just make sure you add a unique element to it to make it stand out a bit.

I will be checking all profiles before assigning partners. Please, no no-sends or recent 1’s or 3’s. If, goodness forbid, we have any flakers, let me know and I will send. I am going to open this up for International since we will only have 1 swap partner, and postage should be minimal.

I'm a newbie too and would love to join this swap! I just finished an altered book with an Asian theme and have lots of "stuff" leftover to use.

hiya, is there a specific size for the card and bookmark :-)

JorjaMaria 05/20/2010 #

CJ - =) I'm so happy you're in!

Shelleanne - No specific size. Just make sure it's something that your partner can send in the mail. (I'd discourage 3 x 3 cards, etc...) Mine will be around a 4 x 5 inches card. Bookmarks are sender's choice.

I'm sure everyone will use good judgement. =)

Hi everyone! I see we have a bunch on the watch list! Only a couple more days... I will try to have partners assigned before noon on Tuesday.

I really hope to see a good turnout on this one, as I have a great idea for a theme for the next one! I'll post that one as soon as I assign partners for this.

Have a FABULOUS day, everyone!

Hi fellow swappers!

I'm going to try and assign partners tomorrow before noon. I see a lot of watchers out there, so I hope you decide to join us!
