In the beginning was The Word.
My family enjoys Nertz and Dutch Blitz (card games).
We have an adorable Australian Shepherd dog named Allie.
I've kept a journal since Kindergarten.
I used to run a mail delivery service for my parents, grandma, and neighbors.
I love playing volleyball.
Milk may be my favorite beverage. Grape juice is a treat.
Speaking of treats, my aunt makes the best white chocolate raspberry cheesecake.
Sunglasses are my semi-permanent accessory.
I've been trying to get out and walk or bike every day. I managed 75 miles in June. Didn't make 100 in July (just 81), so still aspiring for a century!

• Colors: most shades of blue and green. Lavender and burgundy are also nice. I don't care for pink.
• simple & quiet > loud & glitzy
• 100% cotton socks.
• Items helpful for correspondence are welcome, such as postcards, stationery, envelopes, return address labels, pens (love Pilot V5 and G2 ), postage (new or used).
• No Thank You: Please save pink items and stickers for those who will appreciate them more (to be clear, not me! ☺)

A note on pink : several thoughtful swappers have apologized for using pink stationery to correspond. Please do not feel you must limit yourself if pink is one of the ways you comfortably express yourself. I am very happy for you to write on and use pink items, I just have no interest in using them for myself.

• Thoughtfulness: Tell me about your attachment to the item you're sending. Where did you find it? How is it significant to you? Why will I like it?
• Connection: I'd like to hear about the people who are important to you.
• Lighthouses
• Reading/Writing/Books/People engaging in these activities (Libraries)
• Aussies (Australian Shepherd dogs)
• the beautiful earth, nature, landscapes, sun, moon, stars
• Happiness
• Language and Words (such as the same word in many languages, or a greeting in your heart language). Translation appreciated!
• Something that represents you or your story. Some examples I've received: a postcard of the church the sender was married in, a new year's card from the sender's sister, a map of the sender's city, an image from the sender's favorite movie.
• For postcards, I look at the text before the image. I'd rather have an interesting message accompanying a lackluster photo than a stunning picture with no commentary.
