About Me

My family is everything to me.

My husband and I have three great kids, two boys and a little girl. I am blessed enough to be able to be a SAHM right now, but after the little one starts school, I would like to be able to start my own business.

I love to be creative; knitting, sewing and designing, soap making, paper making, cooking and baking, and all kinds of other arts and crafts type of stuff.

I am also blessed enough to be married to my very best friend- whom I have known for the past 13 years, been in a relationship with for the past five, and married to for the last two. He is my rock, and my number one supporter, the person who has always encouraged my creativity, which is something we both feel is very important.

My 'extended' family is also very important to me, and there are a few I feel very fortunate to be very close too

Favorite Music

Country, Classic Rock, Techno, R&B, Classical, Coffee House... pretty much anything, as long as there isn't a bunch of screaming

Favorite Books

The Dark Tower Series, Harry Potter, Eragon Trillogy, Wicked, Son of a Witch, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire... there are more but I can't think of them off hand =)

Favorite Crafts

Sewing, Knitting, Paper Making, Soap Making, embroidery, cross stitch

Things I like!

(these are listed randomly.. as they come to mind, NOT in order of imp.)

  1. Coffee... both sweet and strong
  2. Vintage style anything- if it looks old, retro, flowery, whatever the case may be, anything old catches my fancy- anything from fabric, household items, wallpaper... you name it, I will probably be interested =)
  3. Crafting- see above
  4. PINK- all shades
  5. Animals- we have a large dog, one cat, bird, fish (a 120 Gal tank), and hermit crabs
  6. Decorating - I can't define our style for sure, but if I had to name it, I would call it "Country/Cottage-ee", we have a lot of plants, wood, vintage-ee items, a lot of light, various shades of greens, gray/browns
  7. Eco-Friendly living
  8. Gardening
  9. Thrift Stores
  10. Cooking and baking from scratch (or close to it)
  11. Jewlery (vintage hat pins, pins, necklaces, earings, rings, ect are my fav- but I also like a lot of modern silver colored stuff)

I'll add more as I think of them =)

Comment: Aw, that is a really cool quote. Your father must be a brilliant man to have said such a funny quote. The jalapeños in the background look so cool!
Response: YAY! So glad you liked it =) This was my first time making postcards, so I was pretty nervous it would pull apart, or wouldn't meet expectations =) And I'll be sure to let my dad know, he thought it was hillarious that I used this quote from him ;)

Comment: Thank you. I will definitely try to make my own paper. You make it sound very easy. I just have to find myself a cheap picturescreen. ;)
Response: Yay! I am so glad you are going to try it! It really isn't that hard to do (there are a TON of youtube videos out there too if you run into any problems), for me, I found a frame at my local dollar store, and a small amount of screen at my local hardware store and just cut out the screen to fit the frame and stapled it into place! Good luck!

Comment: I absolutely agree about storage, at one point I had no clue how much elastics I had (I sew a lot of clothes for my child) and ended up with 5 rolls of them :). Thanks for your ideas!
Response: You are very welcome! I've gotten a ton of good ideas from this swap! Glad I could contribute! =)
