I am a New Zealand girl living in the far north of Japan. I teach English at a high school. I'm 23, and I love my life.

The city I live in is awesome. It is close to the mountains and the sea, so I can go hiking and swimming in summer and skiing in winter. In between, I love to cook, read, listen to all kinds of music, watch movies, and spend time with my friends. I love my garden, but I've just killed my sunflower. Travel is what I love to do when time and money allows. I drink too much tea. I also love postcards and letters!

My favourite books (at the moment) are Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen and Rebecca, by Daphne du Maurier.

My favourite movies (at the moment) are Roman Holiday and Casablanca.

I like things that make me laugh and things that are unexpected. I love bright colours and over the top retro-cool kitch. I have been searching for a shop that sells plastic pineapples. I hate tack - there is a fine line between cool and tacky! I live in Japan so please don't send me Hello Kitty and cute Japanese stuff.

I'm making a patchwork quilt, so any squares of fabric around 15cm by 15cm (sorry, I don't know what that is in American) are more than welcome. I have a sewing machine, but no patterns. If you have simple paper pattens with English instructions, I'd love them!

More than anything, I'd like to recieve something that tells me about you - where you live, what you do, what you like or what is famous where you are from.

I'm pretty easy to please and I am looking forward to whatever turns up in the mail! Think outside the square and surprise me!
