Hi my name is Jane and I'm a SAHM of 2 boys (8, 14), plus a guardian to another boy (17). I work one day a week for a couple of hours - helps pay the bills. My hubby is a Sheriff - in Australia that is like a court baliff / debt collector. I live in a small rural town in southern NSW, Australia. We have a gorgeous male german shep.(2yo), several cats, 2 guinea pigs, a fish and a few chooks. We used to have a horse (Roan Appaloosa QH), but she has gone to another family now who needed a reliable, quite horse for the little one. Hopefully we'll get another horse soon. I love writing and journaling, and am an avid reader of both fiction and non fiction. I belong to a local book club and a local art group.

LIKES: I love drawing and art journaling (I'm just starting this), learning about art history, scrapbooking, going for walks - in part. walking my dog, planners (franklin covey, filofax, MTN's etc), animals (dogs, horses, wolves, owls, eagles/hawks and other birds, cats etc, acutally all animals).

I love chocolate, coffee and tea. I love rainy days (not seeing a lot of them at moment due to drought), sitting in front of the fire place with a good book and coffee, hot water bottle and cat in my lap. My favourite colour is purple.

I love writing to my penpals, swapping postcards (I'm also a member of postcrossing), and writing in my journal.

I love history and study archaeology/history at uni. I also love visiting cemeteries and looking at the old grave markers. I think they can show the real history of a place/area. I also love old grave markers, in. particular Angels.

I enjoy quilting and embroidery and have made a couple of quilts (hand sewn) and I also like stitcheries.

I love travel - have been to India, Nepal, Europe (France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Austria & Switzerland), Britain, Hong Kong, Philippines and Thailand. We are hoping to go to Singapore at the end of the year.

Books: I love books and reading and can got lost in a book store for hours. I'm currently reading several books, and am enjoying them all. next on the list is Divergent, Veronica Roth, as I also want to see the movie and like reading the book first. My bedside table has a huge pile of books and my wish list is long and never ending. I do have a kindle but haven't used it yet and I really love holding a book in my hand. If it's a 2nd hand one I like to imagine who had it before and whether they liked it etc. I belong to a couple of libraries and can't just borrow 1-2 books at a time, I have to borrow several. I'm a quick reader and having insomnia helps too! I like any genre, but espec. like cosy mysteries and also the classics. I also like large books (more than 300 pages) that you can really sink into, plus I like series as I get attached the characters. My fav. book(s) of all time are: The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit (Tolkien) and also anything by Gerald Durrell - My Family and Other Animals being just one of them. Love Harry Potter too.

TV Shows: Love The Walking Dead (bring on October), NCIS, Star Trek (par. Next Gen and Voyager), Auction Hunters, Horrible Histories, Dr Blake Mysteries, Miss Fisher, Midsomer Murders, The Book Club (ABC TV), Big Bang, Supernatural, Dr Who, Rush (Aussie TV series 2008-2012), Dr Quinn, Murdoch mysteries, Little House on the Prairie, and many more and a lot of the kids cartoon shows.

Music: My favourite band is The Killers, and I also like Sarah McLachlan, U2, Lorde, 80s music, Mumford and Sons, Coldplay. I enjoy listening to classical music too and my fav. composer is Vivaldi. I like most music and listen to all different types.

Movies: I love going to the movies and have recently seen The Fault in Our Stars, The Monument Men, Le Weekend, Vampire Academy and can't wait too see Divergent and the Lego Movie. I really enjoy all genre of movies except horror and love going to the movies on my own. Although it is fun going with family and friends too.Loved The Lord of the Rings Trilogy and also The Hobbit Movies, plus the Harry Potter series. These were all great takes on the books.

COLLECTS: Bookmarks, project life cards (and similar journaling cards), owls, postcards, stickers (any type), charms for bracelets, planner related things, washi tape, journals, quotes, books, Fat 1/4's and embroidery threads, tea pots and cups.

DISKLIKES: not much - cockroaches, fruit (except apples, bananas and watermelon), really hot days, being out in the sun too long.
