i'm a 35 year old rebel at heart, but a total crafty, domestic suburban mommy in real life. i drive a small car, live in a small house and live a fairly small life -- but i feel like it's all much bigger than that sounds.

my family consists of one best friend to whom i have been married for the past thirteen years, one nine year old daughter who is my life, one cat who loves to play fetch (freak) and one dog who makes me nuts, but is too adorable not to love. extended family is in texas where both my husband and i were born and raised. we've been desert dwellers for about four years now.

i love my friends and family fiercely.

i am a proud member of the handmade resurgence! i believe in the beauty of upcycled, found and handmade items!

i enjoy lots of different crafts - painting, scrapbooking, embroidery, mixed media, sewing, jewelry making, atcs, recycling/upcycling, etc. i'm learning to knit and crochet.

my musical taste is all over the map - here's a rundown of my sirius faves: bbc radio 1, hits 1, broadway, sinatra, lithium and 90s. alternative? awesome. classical? yes. see? all over the map.

i love movies so i can't name favorites, but here is one of my favorite movie quotes:

kisses, internet access, sodas from sonic with lots of crunchy ice, shiny flats and handbags + jeans, my craft room, sirius radio, my DVR, my sunglasses, my iphone, and my two loves.

i love bright colors. i collect owls and the letters H & F. i collect anything alice in wonderland and have been in love with the book and disney movie since i was little. (i am SO excited about the upcoming tim burton version!) i am addicted to making paper garland.

i love pretty ephemera. old books are fabulous. i'm crazy about glitter, especially glass. i love paperchase items. i love washi and deco tape. i am addicted to stationery and cute notebooks and moleskin journals. i like the smells of vanilla and cinnamon and clove and oranges, but not all together. i don't do well with plants. my favorite holiday is christmas and my favorite season is winter. i love french or italian magazines. i am addicted to starbucks sweetened black iced tea. i love to cook and bake. i like orange slices, peppermint gum, sour patch kids and skittles. i don't like licorice.

i can't stand the smell of smoke or steamed broccoli. i hate to sweat. bugs creep me out. i don't think it's nice to smell like a perfume counter. i've never read or seen twilight. i don't watch lost. i laugh at inappropriate things.
