Greetings from Montana, USA! 🌄 I'm Jo; I recently found out about this site from a swapper on PostCrossing where I've enjoyed being a member for over 2 years. Now I'm intrigued and looking forward to participating in some swaps here. I love the treat of receiving snail-mail and learning about people from other places. As much as I love to travel, I don't get to often so this is a different way for me to experience new people and places.

Along with the crafts listed below, my hobbies are: photography, cooking/baking, fishing, trivia & games, cocktails with friends, history, nature, and most recently: genealogy.

I'm single with 1 fantastic son (grown). I currently have 1 cat I sort of inherited and have become quite attached to. She is a Maine Coon named Elizabeth Swann (I didn't name her!) but she just goes by 'Kitty.' 😉 When the time is right, I look forward to having a dog again - I miss my yellow lab so much!

I am a very liberal, open-minded person so please be yourself with me! 👍

My biggest passion is creating/working with my hands and I've been fortunate enough to sell some of my work. I'm most involved in crochet, sewing, embroidery, painting, jewelry-making, decoupage, clay, and whatever else strikes my fancy. I'm like a kid in a candy shop when it comes to yarn or fabric! (I hate admitting that - it sounds so... dull.)

Crafts I don't do but greatly admire: woodwork, watercolor painting, pottery, knitting.

📚 I can't remember ever not loving books! I gravitate mostly toward mystery, crime (fiction or nonfiction), forensic, thriller, and sci-fi stories, but will also greedily devour anything that teaches me something of interest... DIY, history, science, psychology, etc. (Incidentally, that also pretty much covers the types of TV shows I watch.) 📺

The older I get, the less I am taken in by pyrotechnics and booming sound effects. I like movies that make me think, question, or belly-laugh out loud. I'm more impressed by clever writing than stunts. I'm REALLY impressed by movies I can't predict, or that completely take me by surprise. Oh, and I love old sci-fi movies and MST3K! 🚀

I could go on and on about music (I was even a radio DJ once upon a time) so I'll try to just cover the basics... my favorites are: indie, disco/funk (don't laugh!), rock/classic rock, blues/soul, and ambient/instrumental. But, if I like how it sounds, I'll listen to it no matter what category it falls under. 🎶🎶🎶

📫 Some miscellaneous things I like and that are also good suggestions for postcards: I love birds! 🐦 I also like rabbits, sea turtles, krakens & other deep-sea creatures (including mythical and sci-fi), old sailing ships, water scenes, forests, mountains, aurora borealis, outer space, the moon & stars (and other celestial bodies), steampunk, unique tattoos, interesting foods/recipes, humor, art, fireworks, hot-air balloons, but I welcome ANYTHING! Even something historical about your homeland would be interesting. I'd rather not receive political, advertisement, or religious (unless it's FSM!) cards.

Colors: I enjoy most colors; it really depends on what the item is, but in general I prefer the cool colors, especially deep 'jewel' tones. My taste wanders but I'll always love plum, cobalt, soft pink, and brown. I also like the contrast of black and white together.

Scents: I'm NOT into sweet or flowery scents. I prefer spicy/earthy/woodsy scents like musk, sandalwood, patchouli, vanilla, clove, cinnamon, tobacco, coffee, tea, etc.

Style: I suppose it would best be described as Boho. I love paisley, batik, damask, and other interesting patterns. I do not like any animal skin prints! I mostly dress casual & relaxed. I like cute dangly earrings and love bracelets of any kind. Big fan of marcasite and amethyst (my birthstone).

Food: YES! If it has garlic, onions, or cheese on it, I'll probably eat it. 🍕 I especially love pizza, Mexican, Thai, and Chinese. I have a terrible sweet tooth - my weakness is dark chocolate! 🍫 I also love chocolate & peanut butter together, and anything coffee/mocha. My absolute favorite candy is chocolate-dipped angel food (also known as sponge candy or seafoam/honeycomb). By the way, for recipe swaps, I prefer 3x5" cards if possible. So, even is the swap specifies a different size, I won't rate down if you send 3x5"!

Beverages: Yes, I drink coffee but usually decaf because I drink it for the flavor, not the buzz. Love iced mochas and frappés! I also like teas, cola, and root beer. Alcohol: beer, dark/spiced rum, vodka, red wine, and nothing beats a good Bloody Mary. 🍸

UNused postcards/notecards/U.S. postage stamps, jewelry (especially bracelets), barrettes, ponytail bands, headbands, clear nail polish, lotion, soap/shower gel, Vaseline lip balm, purple or brown eye shadow, waterproof mascara, makeup wipes, watercolor art, candles, incense, crochet hooks (sizes D-J), beads, tote bags, bumper stickers/decals, maps, books, DVDs, colored pencils, flower/herb/indoor plant seeds, cat treats, sun catchers, bird houses, car air fresheners (love Scentsy circles - see favorite scents above), dish cloths, recipes/recipe cards (prefer 3x5"), gift cards. I enjoy animals & nature in general and would love anything with birds, sea turtles, krakens, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster! BUT-- these aren't demands; merely ideas. All gestures are appreciated! 🌟

Don't Use/Need: Used postcards/stamps, conservative/republican/religious items.
